Egypt will receive on Monday a German Type 209/1400 submarine within the framework of distinguished ties between the political leadership of Egypt and Germany.

The submarine with the latest technology installed for this type of vessel will join the Egyptian Navy.

On December 10, 2015, ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) announced the building of the first of four Type 209/1400 submarines for Egypt is at its Kiel yard.
