Head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) Rami Abdelrahman said on Tuesday that he had confirmed information about the death of leader of Daesh terrorist group Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, reported Sky News Channel.
A source in the Iraqi province of Nineveh reported earlier that Daesh made a brief statement in which they confirmed the death of their leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi and said that his successor will be named soon, urging their members to continue fighting.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that al Baghdadi was likely shot on May 28 as a result of a Russian airstrike and it noted that it was in the process of confirming the information.
