Citizens of Golan reject elections of Israeli local Councils.

Syrians in the villages of Majdal Shams and Baqaatha in the occupied Syrian Golan on Sunday held the activity of “Homeland Tent” to affirm rejection of holding the so-called “local councils’ elections” which the Israeli occupation authorities seek to impose on them.

They affirmed the Arabism and identity of the occupied Golan and their adherence to the Syrian Arab identity.

Ghandi Kahlouni, a Syrian citizen from the occupied village of Majdal Shams, expressed rejection of the Syrians in Golan to participate in these elections and their determination to boycott them because they are illegal and they contradict with the 4th Geneva Convention.

Yasser Abu Shahin, a Syrian citizen from the occupied village of Baqaatha, said that all measures taken by the Israeli occupation such as holding elections at the end of the current month, are null and void, and they are illegal.

Abu Shahin, affirmed that Syrians in occupied Golan will throw away the election cards similar to what they did in 1982 when they burned the Israeli identity cards.
