Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab has asserted that the government has no plans to privatize university hospitals.
"University hospitals will not be privatized, yet their upgrade is a must," he said during a meeting Thursday on challenges facing university hospitals.
The premier stated that the universities health facilities will remain public and non for profit.
There are 88 university hospitals in Egypt that provide medical services to some 16 million people as well as their educational services.
