The Arab League Council strongly condemned the cowardly terror attack that targeted and killed Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat on Monday.

At the conclusion of an emergency meeting on Monday, the council held at the permanent delegates’ level stressed that Arab countries are strongly backing Egypt in the war against terrorism and supporting all measures the country takes to eradicate terrorism.

Egypt’s top prosecutor was killed after a highly explosive charge hit his motorcade earlier Monday in Nozha district of eastern Cairo.
