The Awqaf Ministry has reiterated warning against using mosques as a platform for parliamentary election campaigns.

The Ministry will respond swiftly to such attempts, said Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa Tuesday in statements before leaving for the UAE to deliver a lecture on dissolving extremist thinking.

Mosques should not be part of any political or partisan disputes, Gomaa said, stressing those are sacred places of worship.
