Al Azhar condemned on Saturday the kidnapping of a Croatian national working for a foreign company in Egypt by a terrorist group.

In a press release, Al Azhar called for an immediate release of the Croatian national.

The statement asserted that Islam prohibits the abduction of any person.

Al Azhar expressed its confidence that the Egyptian authorities will exert their best efforts to release the kidnapped foreigner.

Earlier, a Croatian hostage was kidnapped by a terrorist group.
