The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) on Monday condemned a terror attack that targeted security checkpoints in al-Kawadis area northeast of North Sinai's capital city of Arish.

In a statement issued by the DFLP office in Amman, the front said the attack was a desperate terrorist attempt to harm Egypt's national and regional role, especially following Cairo's effective action to put and end to the Palestinian division.

It affirmed confidence the terrorism and its sponsors would be defeated by the will and steadfastness of the Egyptian people, army and leadership.
