Head of the Evangelical Church of Egypt Andrea Zaki has denounced Sunday's terrorist attack in the precincts of the Abbassiya-based Cathedral on Sunday which left a number of people dead and wounded.
In a statement, Zaki asserted that terrorism knows no religion or homeland, calling on all Egyptians to stand shoulder to shoulder to face this phenomenon which he said would boost the insistence to face all terrorist organizations inside Egypt.
He offered condolences, in the name of all Evangelical denominations, to Pope Tawadros II, the Orthodox Church and Egyptian people and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
The terrorist attack occurred during Sunday morning mass at the Cathedral.
