German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier condemned the blasts that took place in Brussels Tuesday saying the attacks “aim at the heart of Europe.” 

The Deutsche Welle cited Steinmeier as saying: "Europe stands together and as one. Belgium is not alone."

He said his ministry had created a crisis hotline for Germans traveling in Belgium and their relatives. 

Those in Brussels should proceed with heightened attentiveness and caution, the ministry said on its website.
