The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen has strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset’s adoption of the so-called bill to "legalize settlement outposts", stating that such an unprecedented escalation aims to consolidate colonial settlement and seize more Palestinian lands. He considered that such Israeli measures are null and void under international law and constitute a blatant violation of relevant UN resolutions.
In a statement today, The OIC Chief also affirmed that this Israeli bill confirms the continuation by Israel, the occupying power, of its policies aimed at undermining the two-State solution and the political efforts and moves exerted by all active international parties with the objective of ending the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian land and establishing just peace.
In the same vein, Al-Othaimeen reiterated his denunciation of the continued Israeli incursions into the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by occupation forces and extremist settlers groups, warming against these dangerous practices which constitute a grave violation of the freedom of worship and the sanctity of holy sites, which would eventually fuel religious conflict, terrorism and violence in the region.
The Secretary General stressed that Israeli escalation requires prompt movement at the UN Security Council to table a draft resolution that condemns Israeli settlement and put an end to these repeated serious violations against holy sites.
