The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned Sunday's explosion inside El Boutroseya Church (St. Peter & St. Paul Coptic Orthodox Church) in Cairo’s Abbassiya district, leaving 23 people dead and 49 others injured.

In a statement Monday, the ministry asserted the Russian stance rejecting all kinds of terror and extremism and its support to the efforts exerted to achieve stability in Egypt.

The ministry offered condolences to the families of the victims and wished speedy recovery to the injured.
