Yemen denounces Saudi Arabia bombings

The Yemeni government vehemently condemned the spate of suicide bombings that hit Saudi Arabia Monday evening, expressing its solidarity with the government and people of the kingdom against threats they face.

Such attacks that target Muslim holy sites underlined the need of joint action by Muslim countries to uproot terrorism, the government said in a statement published by the Yemeni news agency (Saba) on Tuesday.

The extortion policy adopted by the terror groups against Saudi Arabia will never succeed in undermining the Kingdom's regional and international role in fighting terrorism and sectarianism, the statement read.

It added that the latest heinous acts committed by these terrorist groups, which distorted the image of Islam and its upright teachings, showed that these groups will be defeated.

Offering condolences to the Saudi government and people and the families of the victims, the Yemeni government reiterated support for Saudi Arabia.

It further called all brotherly and friendly nations to take strict action against such villainous attacks, noting that the stability of Saudi Arabia is the backbone of the region's and the Muslim world's stability and security.

On Monday, Medina, Qatif and Jeddah cities were rocked by separate bombings that left four security personnel dead and several others wounded.
