Algeria – Rabia Kheres
Algerian contemporary artist Fatima Boziban, in collaboration with veteran fine artist Omar Khaithar, co-organizes an exhibit that brings together dozens of works focusing on the Algeria heritage and lifestyle of Amazighs.
“The exhibit represents an in-depth journey through the Algerian civilization that features the country’s identity, customs and traditions,” Boziban said in an interview with Arab Today.
It features painting on glass and ceramic work which reflect daily life in Algeria throughout hundreds of years.
The exhibit will take place in Algeria’s city of Wahran in summer 2017.
Focusing on the evolution of the Algerian surrealist movement and practice, the exhibition documents a period of modernism in Algeria and its global interconnectedness during the 20th century. Works displayed are distinguished with bright colors that attract the eye and the spirit as well,” said Boziban.
