Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab ordered the establishment of a joint stock radio company under the umbrella of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU).
The public sector company, to be named "Nile Radio", will commercially manage the frequencies and stations broadcasting on vacant FM bands.
Nile Radio will have the right to acquire any licenses, enter agreements and tenders, and undertake any commercial, industrial, financial and real estate activities related to its scope of action directly or indirectly.
