Egypt’s economy continues to struggle Cairo - Akram Ali Egypt’s Finance Ministry has recorded $38.8bn in external debt, marking a four-year high for the country. A ministry report also recorded an increase in internal debt. Total deficit in Egypt’s general budget increased between July 2012 and March 2013 to EGP175.9, reportedly due to overheads exceeding revenues.
