Trade deficit deceased in 2013 Rabat - Arab Today Morocco’s trade deficit deceased by 2.8 pc in 2013, going down from MAD 202.06 billion in 2012 to MAD 196.39 billion in 2013, says the Exchange office. This positive performance is the result of a 2pc growth of exports and a decrease of 1.1pc of imports. Morocco reduced its imports of most products (raw materials: -22.2pc, food products: -14.5 pc, and consumption goods: -1.8 pc). While exports of phosphates and by-products declined by 23.3 pc and those of textile and leather by 3.1pc, exports of the car-making industry grew by 23.3pc, those of pharmaceutical products progressed by 14.9pc, exports of the aeronautical sector increased by 14.7 pc and exports of electronic goods rose by 11.9pc Source: MAP
