Juventus have completed the signing of former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka, the Serie A club have confirmed. The 33-year-old leaves Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua to sign a six-month contract, with Juve including the option of a further year. A statement on the Juventus club website read: \"Anelka is a Juventus player. His contract, which runs until June 30, has been submitted to the league. The agreement includes the option to renew the deal until June 30, 2014.\" Anelka underwent a series of medicals in Turin last week but the deal was not ratified until this morning. Speaking to the club\'s website, Anelka could not his delight at sealing the switch to the Italian giants. \"It\'s nice to get back to a big club,\" he said. \"The Champions League is a very difficult competition to win, but a team like Juventus has the players and qualitites needed and will do everything to win the cup. I\'m proud to put on the shirt. It was a bit more difficult on the football side but I don\'t regret this great experience. Nicolas Anelka, Juventus forward on his time in China \"I know that Serie A is a very difficult, physical, hotly-contested and a very demanding league,\" he continued. \"I\'ve never played in Italian football. The English style corresponds more to my style but I appreciated other leagues.\" Anelka also said he would take fond memories from his year in China, labelling Shanghai a \"magnificent city\" before adding that \"it was a bit more difficult on the football side but I don\'t regret this great experience.\" Juventus become the tenth club of a career which has seen Anelka rack up estimated transfer fees of almost £85m, while also scoring 14 goals in 69 caps for France. He was part of their victorious UEFA Euro 2000 squad and has won the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid. He also has league titles in England to his name with Arsenal and Chelsea as well as in Turkey with Fenerbahce. He has won the FA Cup three times, twice with the Blues and once with Arsenal. From FIFA
