Arsene Wenger is doing more on the transfer market than he has ever done before – especially given that the season has not even ended. His scouts are circling his list of preferred targets and there are some smart buys on the roster. From Clint Dempsey and Lukas Podolski, to Yann M’villa, Arsenal are certainly building a title-winning squad for next year. However, the transfer news that will really warm Gunner hearts is that Wenger may have found the replacement for Cesc Fabregas. The mercurial Arsenal midfielder left a huge hole when he left for Barcelona, but Wenger has sighter Brazil midfielder Hernanes as the answer to Cesc. What’s more, Lazio are ready to sell Hernanes. According to a report in the Daily Mail (http://bit.ly/Ig6gJo) Hernanes joined the Italians from Sao Paulo for £11.2million two years ago. Lazio want at least £16m for him and Hernanes is seen as having similar characteristics to Cesc Fabregas. Hernanes has eight goals in 29 Serie A appearances this season. However, Wenger will note that both Spurs and Liverpool are tracking the midfielder as well.
