On the fourth match day of German Bundesliga, Cologne inflicted Hamburg a bitter defeat as joker defender Kevin McKenna shocked the \"Rothosen\" with the late decider while Bayern striker Mario Gomez sealed the 3-0 win over Kaiserslautern single handed with his hat rick and the Wolves suffered a surprising 3-0 loss against Freiburg on Saturday. Bayern pressed from the start against Kaiserslautern to leave nothing to chance. The German giant collected a couple of chances but they remained short on accuracy at the finish. With 37 minutes into the match referee Peter Gagelmann awarded Bayern a penalty due to a handball inside penalty area. Bayern striker Gomez stepped up to convert the penalty to give his team the expected lead. After break referee Gagelmann again awarded Bayern a penalty after a foul play inside penalty that was once more converted by Gomez to seal his second of the match. Kaiserslautern was unable to put up some resistance against cheerful Bavarians. Consequently Gomez sealed his hat trick as he slotted home into open goal after a magnificent build up play by striker mate Thomas Mueller. \"Today we played very well. All in all it was the best game of the season,\" Bayern coach Jupp Heynkes said after the match.
