Brazil, hosts of the 2014 World Cup, crashed out of the top 10 in the FIFA world rankings published on Wednesday for the first time since the standings were created in August 1993. Brazil slipped six spots and now sit 11th as the top 10 showed big jumps for Portugal and Italy, who lost to world number one Spain in the final of the European Championships last week. Portugal climbed five spots to fifth while Netherlands lost four to go to eighth.
