Germany stunned favourite Croatia to secure Olympic gold in the men’s quadruple gold Friday at Eton Dorney. Croatia had beaten Germany in all three World Cup regattas in 2012 but had no answer to the team of Karl Schuze, Phillipp Wende, LauritzSchoof and Tim Grohmann at London 2012, German News Agency (DPA) reported. The German boat led from the start and crossed the line in 5 minutes, 42.48 seconds, while Croatia just held off world champion Australia to take silver.
