Ibsons Cricket Club seems to be keen to continue from where they left off in the Bukhatir League A division tournament final. They are in line for a second title, having breezed into the final of the A.J. Invitation Cup being held at the Al Dhaid Cricket Village and also scored an exciting win in the Bukhatir Twenty20 tournament. In the AJ Invitation Cup final, Ibsons will meet Afridi Cricket Club, who is also in form following their triumph in the Sharjah Invitation Twenty20 Cup. Aided by a fluent unbeaten 106 by Pervaiz Nazir, Ibsons defeated Farwaniya Metals by ten runs while Afridi rode on a solid half-century by Mohammad Zahid to beat Al Manal Group by seven wickets. Nazir hit seven fours and 10 sixes during his breezy 36-ball innings as Ibsons CC scored 240 for seven in the allotted 20 overs. Farwaniya chased the total, but just fell bit short of their target despite. Abdullah Azhar (50 off 23 balls with five fours and three sixes), Fahad (41 off 18 balls with seven four and one six),In the Twenty20 Challenge Cup Baber Malek smashed a quire-fire 49 to steer Ibsons CC to a narrow 12-run victory over Farooq CC. The well-built experienced Malek hit three fours and four sixes in his 26-ball innings as Ibsons CC, batting first, posted a decent 167 for 9. Farooq Club in reply was restricted to 155 for 3 despite Azhar’s 53 off 45 balls with five fours and two sixes.
