New York - Arab Today
Sporting Kansas City moved to the top of the USA Major League Soccer Eastern Conference with a comfortable 3-0 win over bottom-club the Montreal Impact Collen Warner was dismissed for the Impact after 17 minutes and from there Sporting took control with a Dom Dwyer brace and a strike from Paulo Nagamura sealing the win. The New York Red Bulls sit alongside three other teams on 14 points in second following a remarkable 5-4 loss to the Chicago Fire. Harrison Shipp put the Fire ahead after just four minutes but Tim Cahill levelled two minutes later before Bradley Wright-Phillips had the Red Bulls ahead at the break. Four goals in 15 minutes then put the team from the windy city seemingly in complete control as Shipp completed his hat-trick alongside strikes from Quincy Amarikwa and Patrick Nyarko. But there was still time for Wright-Phillips to complete a hat-trick of his own as the home side fell just short of a comeback. DC United are also on 14 points after a Chris Rolfe goal secured a 1-0 win over the Philadelphia Union. In the Western Conference, the ten-man San Jose Earthquakes battled to a 2-1 win over FC Dallas. Cordell Cato had the Earthquakes ahead before Shea Salinas was given his marching orders on the stroke of half-time. A David Texeira own goal made it 2-0 and San Jose held on despite Garbini Michel's late goal. In the day's other game, Erik Hurtado scored the only goal as the Vancouver Whitecaps beat the Colombus Crew 1-0. Source: FIFA.com
