Peter Kretschmer and Kurt Kuschela of Germany won the Olympic gold medal Thursday in the 1,000-meter canoe doubles race. Brothers Andrei and Aliaksandr Bahdanovich of Belarus took the silver and Russians Alexey Korovashkov and Ilya Pervukhin won the bronze.
