Manchester United have today announced the first team will play a pre-season game against Kitchee FC in Hong Kong, as part of Tour 2013, presented by Aon. Much to the delight of its 108 million Chinese fans, the United squad will be in Hong Kong for the match on 29 July at the Hong Kong Stadium. This will be the first time the team have played in Hong Kong since 2005. Manchester United chief executive David Gill said: "The Club has tremendous support throughout China and especially in Hong Kong. We have visited on a number of occasions and after an eight-year gap it’s a pleasure for the team to be able to return to Hong Kong again this year. We are looking forward to engaging with our loyal fans, our commercial partners and most importantly preparing for the season ahead." Mr Ken K. Ng, Chairman, Kitchee Foundation said: "Kitchee welcomes Manchester United to return to Hong Kong after an absence of eight years. This is indeed a mega event for Hong Kong because Manchester United is undoubtedly the best-supported football club here and their local fan base is legendary. The match between Kitchee and Manchester United will also be the thrilling conclusion of a week of English Premier League football in Hong Kong this summer.
