Ruben Limardo Gascon of Venezuela won the Olympic gold medal Wednesday in individual epee fencing. Bartosz Piasecki of Norway took the silver. Jinsun Jung of South Korea grabbed the bronze after defeating Seth Kelsey in the third-place match. The gold medal for Venezuela was only its second ever at the Olympics. The South American country won a boxing gold in Mexico City 44 years ago.
