The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) will host an Iftar Banquet in in honour of Arab Athletes and Arab National Olympic Committees at QOC House (Bayt Qatar) on Wednesday. The QOC invited Arab Chef De Missions as the Iftar Banquet will be a great opportunity to organize an Arab gathering on the sidelines of the Olympic Games. The event comes in light of the Qatari support for the Arab participation at London Olympics. The QOC (Bayt Qatar), located at Savoy Place and overlooking the banks of the River Thames, was inaugurated on Thursday and will continue until 12 August 2012. Bayt Qatar offers members of the QOC, its stakeholders and partners, athletes, media and Olympic family guests a stunning, historic and convenient venue throughout the London 2012 Olympic Games where they can experience unique Qatari hospitality. Numerous Qatar-based organisations that have made a mark internationally have a presence in the house, such as Aspire Zone Foundation, the International Centre for Sport Security, Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee QNB, Qtel, Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, Mshiereb Properties, Qatar Tourism Authority , Qatar Museums Authority and Al Jazeera Sports, which will be broadcasting its coverage of the Olympic Games live from within the House’s Sports Lounge. Some 12 prominent athletes represent Qatar in London 2012 Olympic Games including, Nasser Al-Attiyiah (Skeet), Rashid Al-Thaba (Trap/Double Trap), Noor Al-Malki (100m Athletics), Hamza Driouch and Mohammed Al-Qarni (men 1500 m), Mohammed Bakheet (Marathon), Mutaz Barsham (High Jump), Musaab Abdulrahman Balah (men 800 m), Nada Wafa Arkagi and Ahmed Gheith Al-Attari in the swimming freestyle event, Bahia Al-Hamad (shooting) and Aia Magdi (Table Tennis). The QOC is looking for a positive participation in the London 2012 Olympic Games based on its commitment and pioneering strategy to attend all sports competitions to make experience and glory.
