A lack of wind Thursday at Weymouth-Portland Harbor forced postponement of the scheduled Olympic medal race in the men\'s 470 class. The sailors will try again Friday to finish the two-person dingy competition, in which crews from Australia and Britain have already clinched a medal. It was the first medal event of these Olympics not to be held on the day it was originally scheduled. Early round matches in the tennis tournament were postponed due to rain but were made up in time for the competition to finish on schedule. Australians Mathew Belcher and Malcolm will go into the 470 medal race with 18 points and the British duo of Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell will start with 22 points. They will battle it out for the gold and silver medals. The British will have to finish two places in front of the Australians in the medal race to claim the gold. Boats from Argentina, Italy, New Zealand and France are still alive for the bronze medal.
