The English Premier League's Stoke City on Monday hailed its Egyptian winger Ramadan Sobhi for helping Egypt to its first FIFA World Cup Finals in over a quarter of a century following a dramatic 2-1 home win over Congo on Sunday evening.
"The Pharaohs headed into their penultimate group game knowing that all three points would secure them a place in Russia next summer," the club's official site said.
"The Pharaohs have won a record seven Africa Cup of Nations titles, but have only been to the World Cup on two occasions in 1934 and 1900 and are yet to win a game at the finals," it added.
