Reigning champions Zenit St. Petersburg held on to top spot in the Russian Premier League with a goalless draw at home to Dinamo Moscow. Zenit\'s lead remained two points as CSKA Moscow let a 2-0 lead slip at home to Terek Grozny. Brazilian forward Vagner Love put CSKA in front in the 39th minute and they looked on course for a win when Seydou Doumbia added a second two minutes after the break. However, the visitors hit back with two goals in two minutes, Aleksandr Pavlenko and Mauricio scoring to deny CSKA the victory. Krasnodar kept alive their hopes of playing in the top eight competition when the league splits in the New Year, winning 2-0 at home to Rostov with goals from Eugeni Shipitsyn on the stroke of half-time and Joaozinho in the 57th minute. The result left them six points behind eighth-placed Anzhi Makhachkala with three games of their 2011 campaign to go, with Anzhi having played a game less. The day\'s other game between Krylya Sovetov and Volga Nizhny Novgorod finished goalless, with both sides certain to finish the year in the bottom eight.
