Algerian rowing team has snatched Africa championship title by winning six gold medals at the end of the third and last day of Africa (senior et junior) championship, from 16 to 18 October at the dam of Boukerdane in Sidi Amar, Tipasa (50-km east of Algiers).
The Algerian got the six gold medals in Africa championship finals against their Tunisian counterparts (5 gold).
Egypt ranked third with two gold medals.
The Algerians have thus kept their African title, which they won during the ninth edition in Tunisia (2013).
A total of 109 rowers from 19 countries competed in the tenth Africa rowing championship of Nations.
Algeria was represented by 18 rowers, including seven juniors (five boys and two girls) and 11 seniors (nine men and two women).
The 19 countries competing in the tenth Africa championship were Angola, Egypt, Benin, Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Namibia, Senegal, Sudan, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Togo, Mauritius Islands, Morocco, Nigeria and Algeria.
