His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today held a phone conversation with chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS), President of Bahrain Olympic committee, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and with SCYS First Deputy Chairman, Bahrain Athletics Association President, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in which HM the King congratulated them on the new success they achieved in the Budapest Ironman Championship. HM the King pointed out the new success has come to highlight their strong resolve and determination to add new honorable achievements to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
HM the King took pride in the result achieved by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad as he was placed eighth in the Budapest's tournament , breaking his personal record. HM the King hailed Nasser and Khalid's remarkable achievements in the tournament that witnessed a high level of competition.
HM the King's sons, Shaikh Nasser and Khalid commended constant support has been provided by HM the King for the Bahraini team, noting HM the King's following up Bahrain's international sport participations, which underscores the Royal support for sport and youth movement in Bahrain, by which many outstanding sport achievements has been accomplished.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad finished the race in 04:30:38 hours placing eighth, and announced readiness for Challenge Bahrain Competition. While Shaikh Khalid broke his own record by 21 minutes.
Shaikh Nasser underlined the support provided by HM the King and HRH Crown Prince, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa that motivated him to exert further efforts to accomplish honorable results to raise Bahrain's standing in this international forum.
He added that all team members had made considerable and commendable efforts that stress their resolve to achieve a positive results to confirm Bahrain's standing in the triathlon sport, despite the high level of competition they encountered during the race stages.
Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad expressed delight in the results accomplished as he took on the high-level international contenders, which gives him an extra impetus to continue training to reach better results in the upcoming championships, in particular Challenge Bahrain.
