Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, will on Friday night (July 27) host the first of four rounds of this year’s Ramadan Drifting Challenge. The event will be held at BIC’s car parks numbered five and six, where a special donut-shaped course has been erected especially for the competition. Many of the Kingdom’s top drifting talents are expected to take part. It will be a valuable opportunity for them to showcase their power-sliding skills against one another within a safe and controlled environment. The participants will be judged on their performances, which are done within a predetermined time. The competitors with the highest number of points at the end of the event will be declared winners. Those interested in participating can sign in at the venue between 8pm and 8.45pm. Action will be held from 9pm to 11pm. Entry to the Challenge is BD5. Fans interested in joining the drivers in the car as a passenger may do so for BD2. In order to be a part of the event, competitors must have a rear-wheel-drive car and a valid road driver’s licence. They and any potential passengers must also be wearing suitable footwear, meaning no sandals or slippers. Shorts are also not allowed as the legs must be fully covered. General entrance will be completely free to the public. Those looking for VIP access to the venue can enter for BD10. The Ramadan Drifting Challenge is being organised by BIC. The second round is scheduled for August 3, while round three will be held on August 10. The final drifting event of the Holy Month will then take place on August 17. The Ramadan Drifting Challenge is one of the top local competitions held annually by BIC. Hundreds of spectators flock to the circuit each time the competition is held, making this form of motorsport a fan-favourite in the Kingdom.
