The Kuwaiti billiards team won on Sunday the first three places of the eight-balls individual in the eighth Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Billiards and Snooker tournament, held in the United Arab Emirates. The head of the Kuwaiti delegation, Ahmed Al-Qabandi, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the Kuwaiti team got the first three places of the eight-balls individual at the (GCC) billiards competition that kicked off on Saturday. Al-Qabandi said the gold medal was for the Kuwaiti player Majid Al-Azmi, the silver for Omar Al-Shaheen, and the bronze medal was shared by the Kuwaiti Abdullah Al-Yousuf and the Qatari Ali Al-Obaidli. He also clarified that eight-balls teams competition will kick off on Monday. The eighth Gulf Billiards Championship was launched on Saturday under supervision and organization of the UAE Billiards and Snooker Association, with participation of five countries including the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The Kuwaiti billiards team includes head of delegation Ahmed Al-Qabandi, Ali Abd Alilah, manager, Ali Hassan Shaaban, coach, and Raed Al-Zaid, referee. The players are Abdullah Al-Yousuf, Tariq Al-Mulla, Majid Al-Azmi, Bader Al-Awadi and Omar Al-Shahin.
