Kuwaiti eight year old racer Bandar Al-Bahar will participate in the (motocross) motorcycles international tournament for juniors due in Belgium, as the first Arab of his category to participate in this event.
Al-Bahar is well prepared to represent Kuwait in the best ways and to achieve positive results in the major sports event, Chairman of the rally's committee and motorcross of Kuwait Quarter Mile Club, Sheikh Athbi Al-Sabah, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Thursday.
The tournament attracts a lot of international media attention, since it sees the participation of many top racers from all over the world, said the Chairman, noting that participating in this event is a prominent achievement for both Kuwaiti and Arab motor sports.
Sheikh Athbi noted that the delegation is headed by himself and the club's director, Hamad Al-Saif. Moreover, he added that the club has presented Al-Bahar to international media and magazines specialized in motor sports, to give the west an idea about the level of development of the sport in Kuwait.
Chairman of the Public Authority for Youth and Sport Sheikh Ahmad Al-Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah is always supporting Kuwaiti athletes to participate in international events, Sheikh Athbi added.
Furthermore, he praised the efforts of the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs, the Public Authority for Youth and Sport and officials in the club for providing racers with everything they need to succeed in this sport.
The event is run across two days with free practice and qualifying taking place on Saturday August 9, followed by race day on Sunday August 10.
