Kuwait's Tareq Al-Qallaf won the gold medal in the North American Cup (NAC) Wheelchair Men's Epee competition, held in the US Utah's capital Salt Lake City, which runs until Sunday.
In the final game, Al-Qallaf defeated Aleksandr Ibragimov from Russia 15-6.
In statements to KUNA, Al-Qallaf said that he gifted this win to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as well as all Kuwaitis.
He noted that he partakes in two other categories of the competition: Saber and foil on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Al-Qallaf hoped that he could achieve several wins after maintaining the title of world's epee champion for the seventh year in a row.
Kuwait's champion expressed his pride when he raises his country's flag in the international competitions, notably the US one.
He voiced his gratitude to the Kuwaiti Embassy's staff and Ambassador Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah to US for their support.
