The Green-Shirts are set to play in the Al Nakba International Tournament in Palestine this May in order to prepare for their upcoming AFC U-22 Qualifiers. Due the PFF’s inability to find opponents in February’s FIFA Match Dates, Zavisa Milosavljevic’s men had to be without some much needed International exposure. However the Federation’s have somewhat made amends after confirming that the team will be participating in an International tournament that takes place in Palestine in May. According to reports, the National team will travel to the Middle-Eastern country and partake in the competition before departing for their qualifiers. Many have expressed their excitement prior to the tour and it was none other than PFF’s Marketing Director Sardar Naveed Haider Khan who was relishing the trip. “It is a lifetime opportunity to visit Palestine and offer Friday prayers at Masjid Al-Aqsa,” he said. Coach Zavisa also commented on the tour and revealed that it was high time that his side got some International games to play in. “I’m very excited because the team will finally get some international exposure.” He also added that he will only be utilizing youngsters in the important tie and was hopeful that could give a good impression of themselves in Palestine. “I will be using the under-22 team players without any seniors because my target is to progress to the second round of the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers. I was extremely disappointed when our friendly matches were cancelled for February. But Palestine are a good side and I’m hopeful that we can beat them in May.” PFF Secretary Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi also assured supporters that everything was in place this time and that the tour would not be cancelled due to logistical issues. “I’m certain that we can make it to Palestine this time. We are well-prepared and I have been assured by the authorities that we will get the clearance now,” the official was quoted as saying.
