Qatari shooters were out of luck on the second day of the 12th Asian Shooting Championships, held in the Lusail Shooting Complex with 31 Asian teams competing. Qatari competitor Baheya Al Hamad did not manage to qualify for the London Olympics, after it missed out in the 10 meter air rifle. Al Hamad came one point behind Malaysian Nour Teby who scored 499.7 points, coming in fifth place. Al Hamad said that she wished to offer her country the first spot for women in the Olympics. She maintained that that she still has a shot at qualifying through the 50 meter rifle event. Qatari singles and teams have also failed to achieve the expected results in the double trap competition. With none of the five competitors achieving the expected results. The competition concludes on January 22.
