Zamalek announced on Monday that the team would play three friendly matches in their Cairo camp in order to prepare for the CAF Champions League Group stage opener against Ghanaian side Chelsea. The Whites were planing to hold the training camp in the Red Sea resort city of Gouna, but the players asked the technical staff to change the venue to the capital due to fears of post-election instability. "Zamalek will launch their preparatory camp in Cairo on Wednesday for the Chelsea game," the Whites' assistant coach, Ismail Yousif, told reporters on Monday. "Under the helm of Coach Hassan Shehata, Zamalek will play three friendlies during the camp to prepare for the group’s stage opener of the CAF Champions League," read a statement on Zamalek's official website. Zamalek are scheduled to face Ghana champions Chelsea in the group stage of the CAF Champions League on 8 July.  ahramonline .
