Sweden's Frida Hansdotter held her nerve to win Tuesday's World Cup slalom in Lienz.

Hansdotter led after the first run, meaning she was last of the 30 racers out of the hut for the second run.

The 30-year-old Swede, who is the current world slalom silver medallist, could only look on as Switzerland's Wendy Holdener and Slovakia's Petra Vlhova laid down rapid runs.

But when her time came, Hansdotter produced a scintillating bottom half to claim victory in a combined time of 1min 47.02sec, just 0.07sec ahead of Holdener, with Vlhova at 0.43sec.

The win was Hansdotter's third on the circuit and confirms her early season form which has seen her already notch up three podium finishes.
