Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is fully expected to be fit in time to feature in England’s crucial Euro 2012 qualifier with Montenegro next week, according to The Times.Rooney missed United’s 1-1 draw with Stoke on Saturday with a tight hamstring, and boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed he does not expect him to play any part in Tuesday’s evening’s Champions League clash with Swiss side Basel.Sir Alex was less clear on whether the 25-year-old will be able to return in time for Norwich City’s visit to Old Trafford on Saturday, but regardless the injury is understood to be unlikely to keep him out of the trip to Montenegro next Friday.Rooney has made a blistering start to the Premier League season and currently sits top of the division’s scoring charts, having netted an incredible nine times in his first five matches. He has scored a total of 11 times for club and country so far this term, and his presence would be a huge boost for England as they look to acquire the point they need to secure their passage to next summer’s European Championships as winners of Group G.
