Cairo - Arabstoday
Egypt and Ahly defender Wael Gomaa sustained a knock to his ankle during Sunday’s preparatory training for the postponed game against Ismaily which is the 7th match day of the Egyptian Premier League. “Gomaa will undergo medical tests on Sunday to examine the seriousness of the injury he sustained during trainings,” Ahram online Arabic reported. The Cairo giants are set to face Ismaily in the seventh match-day of the Egyptian Premier League on Monday behind closed doors. The crunch showdown was supposed to be played last week but was delayed after Ahly’s group of hardcore supporters, the Ultras Ahlawy, threatened to storm the stadium despite a crowd ban. The Red Devils were instructed to play the game behind closed doors due to the excessive use of fireworks by their fans. Early this week, Ahly was also dealt a blow with the news that defender Ramy Rabea will be out of action for six months as he needs a surgery to repair a fractured backbone. Defending champions Ahly lie second in the league table with 17 points, five behind leaders Harras El-Hodoud who have played two games more than Ahly. ahramonline .
