Greece suffered a blow on Saturday as it was announced central defender Avraam Papadopoulos was out of the remainder of UEFA EURO 2012 with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The 27-year-old Olympiakos star - part of the Greeks' 2010 FIFA World Cup™ squad - had to go off in the first-half of the opening match, a 1-1 draw with co-hosts Poland, and a scan subsequently revealed the injury was serious enough to rule him out of the tournament. Papadopoulos is due to return to Greece for further treatment. Greece's next game is against the team they beat in the UEFA EURO 2004 semi-finals on their way to lifting the trophy, the Czech Republic in Wroclaw on Tuesday. The Czechs lie bottom of the group after a 4-1 hammering by Russia on Friday. FIFA .
