Heavy rainfall has interrupted the sixth and final preliminary match of the Tri-Nation Series between India and Sri Lanka at the Queen\'s Park Oval on Tuesday. Put in to bat after Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews won the toss, India reached 119 for three off 29 overs when the showers arrived. Given the extent of the rainfall and the quality of facilities at the venue, the chances of a conclusion to this match on the scheduled day appear highly unlikely. Should, as is now expected, the match go into a reserve day, it would mean the Sri Lankans playing for four consecutive days as their previous fixture, against the West Indies, was also played over two days. If a definitive result is not possible even with the use of the reserve day, India would be eliminated with Sri Lanka facing the West Indies in Thursday\'s final. A reserve day has also been allocated on Friday for completion of the final, should the unsettled weather in the southern Caribbean persist. Source: AFP
