Baltimore Ravens linebacker Albert McClellan is facing charges he assaulted a girlfriend in his Florida home, court documents reveal. McClellan, 26, arrested June 30 in his hometown of Lakeland, is charged with battery and simple assault with threat or intent to do violence, both misdemeanors, The Baltimore Sun reported Tuesday after obtaining the court documents. The alleged victim, a girlfriend who lives with McClellan, has filed a waiver not to prosecute, though McClellan still has a Sept. 27 court hearing in Polk County, Fla., his lawyer, David Kaylor, said. Kevin Byrne, the Ravens\' senior vice president of public and community relations, said the team was aware of the arrest. \"Due process will take its course,\" he said. Under the National Football League\'s personal conduct policy, McClellan is unlikely to face discipline from the league unless he is convicted of a crime, the newspaper noted.
