Baghdad – Najlaa El Taee
Security expert Ahmed Al Sherifi confirmed that, security command system must be modified for the phase after “Daesh”, because political conflicts can be the main reason behind security deterioration in Baghdad.
He said in a statement to “Arab Today”, that the country is witnessing a security setback and there must be a strategic plan to fight it, including the amendment of the security command. The security situation in Iraq is disturbing especially in Baghdad, as the entrances of the city are completely shut down and the civilians are targeted without any clarification. Iraq has witnessed security deterioration before, but this time, the events are escalated and can’t be controlled.
Al Sherifi said that, Mosul liberation operations took long unjustified periods of time, despite the fact that Iraq has field coalition with 62 major countries, and that proves the existence of political conflicts that delayed the liberation operations.
He expressed his fear about the return of these political conflicts especially when the parliamentary elections are near, during which extremist operations are increased, the citizens suffer more and the government show the disability to control these circumstances.
According to Al Sherifi, the current military operations follow isolation and surrounding techniques as they did with Al Noray mosque and other operations in order to control several areas.
In the meantime, some sectors started negotiating in several topics which causes chaos among “Daesh” organization. Al Sherifi added that, it is known for everyone that Baghdad is about to settle this battle military, and the city is getting ready for this battle through intelligence effort, eliminating inactive cells and arranging the elections.
