Algeria - Rabea Khreis
Algerian parliamentarian Habib Zoqad expressed his skepticism over the coming parliamentary elections scheduled to be held in May, saying that it will not be different from the previous elections.
He added, in an interview with "Arabs Today", that the quota will impose itself on the coming electoral event despite the measures taken by the Algerian authorities to ensure its integrity, including the formation of high authority to monitor the elections.
He underlined the demands adopted by the different political parties, including the parties loyal to the ruling regime, to the Algerian authorities to take the necessary measures to ensure fair and free elections.
Regrading the current parliamentary round, the Algerian opposition figure described it as the worst in the Algerian history, saying that the government ignored the parliamentarian who lost their legitimacy. He accused the speaker of Algerian parliament of conspiring with the government against the members of parliament.
He praised the performance of only two ministers in the current government, including former Minister of Trade Yakhty Belayeb who passed away days ago and Minister of Industry Abdel Salem Boushawareb.
However, the Algerian parliamentarian criticized the government for the current difficult economic situation. He stressed the need for rallying the different national parties to overcome the current critical position witnessed in the country.
