Rebuilding after the devastation caused by the weekend earthquake in Ecuador will probably cost "billions of dollars," President Rafael Correa said on Monday.

Rebuilding the various towns destroyed by Saturday's 7.8 magnitude quake "will take months and years and will cost hundreds of millions, and probably billions, of dollars," he said during a visit to the hard-hit town of Pedernales.
