General Mohamed Ali Fahmi

The Egyptian Air Defense Forces (EADF) are ready to carry out all missions to preserve the country's national security and confront whoever thinks of approaching Egypt's airspace, Commander Major General Mohamed Ali Fahmi said Thursday.

Speaking at a press conference on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the Air Defense Forces Day, Fahmi said all surrounding powers are well aware of the potentials of the Egyptian Air Defense Forces, assuring Egyptians that the country's airspace is totally secured despite massive challenges.

The Egyptian Air Defense Forces are working round the clock in times of peace and war to protect Egypt's airspace against whoever thinks of approaching it, he added.

Under the 1968 presidential decree, the EADF was established as the fourth branch, next to the Navy, Egyptian Ground Forces, and Egyptian Air Force. It comes under the operation command of the Air Force.
